Poem: Starry Shores

Many folks think,

About the sea and the sand,

When the sun is up,

And clouds are away from land.

But what they know not,

Is the beauty of the ocean,

After the celestial orb sinks,

Beneath the vast brine potion.

As ochre darkens to mauve,

With our star’s diurnal adieu,

She weaves the cottons of the clouds,

To a velvet sky anew.

Diamond studs of fire,

Own the heavens above,

Far away, they burn angrily,

But here, fill us with love.

Mirrored down below,

By the infinite sea,

Dark and mysterious,

A fantasy of reality.

Come, sit on the soft sand,

Or take a leisurely stroll,

Forget the biting cold,

And let it rob your soul.
